What is the Pipeline Snapshots report? How do I use it?

You can use the Pipeline Per Job report to view one job's pipeline against another, but what if you want to compare your pipeline to the toughest competition of them all...yourself! You can use the Pipeline Snapshots report to get an idea of how your current Pipeline compares to different points in the past. You can use it to evaluate how your candidates are moving through the pipeline, the number of people advanced or rejected in a given period, and the total number of openings you still need to fill.

You can summarize the results by Day, Week, Month, or Quarter, but each column will only ever show you what the pipeline looked like on the beginning of each specific time period. Mar '15 shows exactly what your pipeline looked like on March 1st, while Week of March 30 shows just March 30th.

How can this report be filtered?

The Pipeline Snapshots report can be filtered by Job and Date Applied, although the date filter will only go back to 02/05/2015 (when we started collecting this data).

Please Note: This report updates every night at 8 AM UTC // 4 AM EST // 1 AM PST

What does Activity - New represent on this report? Is that new candidates or new scorecards or new anything? Thanks!

    Hi Neil,

    Thanks for writing in!

The New row underneath Activity represents new applicants/applications. Let us know if you have any further questions!

    Best,

    Thai

In regards to the New row underneath Activity, if that represents new applicants/applications, then why do I see a different total when I compare those number vs the totals on the Recent Applications report? I double-checked to ensure the filters were setup exactly the same and also ensured that I was comparing the same "Week of .." totals.

Hi- I'm trying to understand what "openings" means. Clearly i get open jobs, live jobs, what what is total openings and what is total live? Thanks!

Hi Natalie, Each job can have multiple openings. Total openings refers to the sum of the openings for all your jobs and total live refers how many of those openings are for jobs that are live (live externally and/or internally). Best, Jeff

Will you ever offer the ability to schedule these reports to be delivered via email?

    Hi Shea,

Thanks for reaching out! I can definitely submit your feedback of having the ability to email reports to our product team. All the reports can be exported to Excel. If you'd like the email the report to someone, you can export to Excel, and then attach the report in an email. You can also send the URL of the report to any Greenhouse user. If that user has permission to view the report, they'll be able to see it.

Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any more questions or concerns!

    Best, Lucia

    Hi there -

It looks like the weekly snapshots of our number of offers fluctuates each week in the same period (ex. pulling from 2/1/2016 to 2/29/2016 with offers equal to 16 in week 1, 12 in week 2, 12 in week 3, 14 in week 4, then 16 in week 5).

Could we sum all the weekly snapshots to estimate the total # of offers in this period? Can you please explain how we should interpret these snapshots in this report? Is this the number of offers which go out each week?

    Hi Pamela,

    Thanks for writing in!

Because the Pipeline Snapshots report presents data for the beginning of that week (a snapshot of that first day in that week), this isn't the report where you can sum all the weekly snapshots to estimate the total # of offers in this period. This number is essentially reporting the # of candidates in the Offers stage in that snapshot.

Perhaps the Offer Activity report might be better suited for your needs.

Hope that helps to clarify the report! Please let me know if you have any further questions on this.

    All the best, Karen

Is it possible to get xml or even better csv instead of an excel file?

    Hi Stefan,

    Thanks for writing in!

Currently it's only possible to export to Excel but I've heard customers converting that into XML or CSV. Hope that helps and if you'd like to dive into your particular situation or have any further questions, feel free to email support@greenhouse.io!

    Best,

What's the difference between this report (Pipeline Snapshot) and the Pipeline report? I would expect them to show the same data but my numbers aren't tying for the same date range.

Does the Recruiter Phone Screen section indicate that the screen took place during the designated week or that the candidate was just moved into that stage?

    Hi Hillary,

Thanks for writing in! For the Pipeline Snapshots report, the candidate number under each stage reflects how many candidates were in the specific stage at the beginning of the selected time period.

Let me know if you have any additional questions!
    Thanks,
    Jodi
